Should Lil "Young it up a little" or remain musically versatile?

I've followed Lil from day one. She has a contagious spirit and smile to match. The American Idol judges have told her over and over to stick to her R & B roots and bring the soulful vibe back to the stage and this will pretty much guarantee her pass to the top each week. Is Lil loosing her young vibrant personality and soulful spunk with her song selections and fashion statements (hair & outfits)? Or do you think she is just being skillfully versatile and trying to show America that she has more to offer than what's stereotypically expected of her?

  1. She can be versatile later. Right now give America (and the judges) what they want.

  2. I miss the real Lil that I fell in love with. I agree she should go back to her self. She's trying to please everyone. I want to see her fun, vivacious personality again. I love her own short and sassy hair-do. It fits her. Lil-you go girl and keep your chin up. You can do this!

  3. Lil Rounds has both the talent and capability of being the next American Idol. That being said, she should stop with the Whitney Houston/Diana Ross wardrobe. Some fly jeans and a chic black leather coat would take her a long way. And enough with the weaves. The short hair is definately sharper. I'm not saying dress like Mary J., but where is Lil? I know she has more style than that!

  4. I definitely think Lil did an amazing performance, but it was an old fashioned song and the theme of the night was Popular downloads. I doubt I surrender is a popular download but i still thought Lil did an outstanding job. However, if she was to do the song Listen by beyonce, she would do that song JUSTICE! She would Slay and kill that song, I hope there will be a theme like beyonce week or dreamgirls, maybe even Soul\RNB week so she can sing that song and just blow Everyone away!

  5. Ohh I wish I had Lil Rounds in front of me, I'd suggest to her: "Young Lady..when you choose a song, whatever it is..study the lyrics and become the song. Read it like a book, put yourself in the place where the writer is talking about. This is the magic that draws the audience into a song. Also, loose the wigs and show us that short style...you've got the looks already, so don't try to make a statement with anything other than your voice and your heart. The magic will happen. Luv you Lil". You guys anybody with a good voice can sing words...When learning these songs she's got to become like well marinated ribs..when people taste it they know!

  6. Lil is extremely talented but I think she is a little to conscious of the judges. I would like to see her just let loose and follow her heart with her song choice. She is losing herself in trying to out-think the judges and the process. Go Lil...do you if you know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yeah Lil Rounds is sort of losing her edge for me. She's so conscious of what she's doing. She just needs to let loose of have fun. I wish I could talk to Lil and tell her just go back to what u did when u sang Be Without U, then u should be fine. Don't listen to the producers or the judges, just go out and have fun, seriously Lil u have to bring the house down next week.

  8. LIL....SNAP OUT OF IT!my friends and I in NC love you! Each show we all get together and anticipate a great performance from you...we have been disappointed LATELY! You killed it during the auditions..what happened? We know that you have an awesome voice....DO YOU HONESTLY KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

We are professional 35 - 43 year old AA females and we have not voted for you during the last 3 episodes. ADAM LAMBERT IS KILLING IT! What's up girl? You continue to choose the wrong songs and you continue to dress as if you are our age. Girl...you got the pipes. Sad to say on April1 show we hoped that you would have ended up in the bottom three so that IT WOULD WAKE YOU UP AND SHAKE YOU OUT OF THIS RUT....SNAP OUT OF IT! SNAP OUT OF IT!

We realize that you would like to be seen as a "versatile" artist....But shuga....GOD GAVE YOU WHAT YOU HAVE.....YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE!!! Accept it. Stop trying to be versatile! Right now you need to please the audience and NOT what YOU THINK you should be! Once you "get there" then start experimenting! Now is not the time! Do you think Mary J, Beyonce etc would be as successful if they had not tkaen the advice of those around them? Imagine Mary during her start dressing the way you did....she was young and she showed it!

For example...we would love to hear you sing Mary J Blige's "Beautiful"...it was a song that did not receive a lot of air play but it would show your range and the song has such a message!
We are not trying to make you a Mary J Blige "wanna be"...we are simply trying to get you into the final two....if not the next American Idol!

Moreover.....when the judges give you advice...you seem to "shrug it off" SNAP OUT OF IT! Please don't end up like Megan who appeared very ungrateful and right now you are beginning to appear the same way your attitude is "Well I had fun and I liked the song and I am trying to be different"....that denotes an air of arrogance and ungratefulness. One of my friends plainly said "You appear too arrogant to take the Judge's advice"

SNAP OUT OF IT OR ADAM LAMBERT WILL TAKE IT HOME! ADAM IS AWESOME TO THE BONE...BAD TO THE BONE....
YOU ARE TOO....JUST SNAP OUT OF IT!
We still have hope but we will vote with our hearts!

    Make it happen girl....signed....

  9. Excuse me but -Sandra,Shirley,Barbara,Teniqua,Shonda,Alexis,
Adrianna,Helena,Sharonda....please tell me you did not jst say "..we have not voted for you during the last 3 episodes.." If you noticed this is a Fan Site for Lil Rounds. I am reading your message to her - you guys remind me of hooded Klan members walking into an NAACP awards show...the sheets are nice and pressed but we lookin at you kinda funny! If you are not voting for Lil Rounds and you give such high praise to Adam...ah....what are you doing here. Go blog Adams site. If I were Lil Rounds I would not take any advice from any fair weather fans like you. Some of the advice was on point; however, you don't come into other folk house and start throwing furniture. You know better than that. Ladies be a fan for somebody, don't straddle the fence. Yes Lil needs some support right now but if you are voting for Adam and got the nerve to tell us... then (just my opinion) keep it to yourself. I am sure you all are nice ladies and very respectful in your communities, but this is not the time to give up on her. She needs votes.

  10. I loved Lil Rounds when she first started out, but for the last few weeks, it seems she is just trying to imitate the singers. What happened to the girl who blew us away with her voice? I agree she needs all our votes to continuem but she needs to get back to the basics.

  13. Hello, first time here. Wow, Lil is so beautiful. Her voice is great! But - Musicman: you are so right on. She needs to commit to the song. I just realized that the reason the Mary J. Blige tune was so great is because Mary is so great. Lil immitates. She does impressions (Tina Turner). I hope she hears you - and soon. If she starts singing songs that feature her skills she can make top 5 easy. But to win, she needs to find Lil and, as you say, "be the song".

  14. I am absolutely amazed that someone would come on hear and purposely be so mean and evil...it is absolutely mind-blowing! I agree if you want to support Adam then you do just that other wise you are just mean snakes with no life and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I certainly hope that you don't have any family members who will need the help and support of the community because what goes around comes around!

  15. A LIL ROUNDS FAN 4 LIFEApril 8, 2009 at 4:14 PM

LIL, I HAVE LOVED YOUR SINGING SINCE DAY ONE ON AI. I hope you find yourself and find yourself soon. I know that you have the voice and you have the talent. You need to come on the stage and WOW everyone with a song that no one would expect for you to sing and sing it well. How about a gospel, or do the song Fantasia did on the show SUMMERTIME. You have the voice and you have the talent, what you are doing is allowing the judges to bring your confidence down with their negativity. Pray to the LORD to annoint you and your voice and get passed the nerves and be LIL ROUNDS again. I have faith in you.

No matter what Lil does...I love it because I've got a huge Lil Rounds crush!

There is no doubt to me that Lil is the most talented vocalist on the show. Yes, she has styles on which she thrives...and other styles that don't bring out her incredible voice. That's the way the show is...it sometimes pushes people out of their comfort zone.

The advice I would give to Lil is:

    1) always try to pick a song that allows you to show your power. I love your strong voice, and your control.

    2) never lose the 'regular girl' personality that you have. It is so refreshing and I love how you haven't forgotten where you came from.

    3) keep knocking me out with your gorgeous, sexy self! You are just a total knockout...and America is falling in love with you just as I have.

Finally, if you're not a fan of Lil Rounds...please go somewhere else to blog. She's our girl...and she always will be no matter how she finishes.

    We love you Lil!

  17. i think lil rounds should try doing some artist like chrisette michelle, goapele and so on and make their songs her own by taking a little of the jazz feel out of the songs and make them more r&b. then the judges would see more originality from her

  18. Lil, I have voted for you EVERY week its been hard but I know you need me. I want you to do your thing now.I am a fan and I am still waiting for you to Bring It.

  20. To MusicMan1685:
Your comments ARE so RIDICULOUS! Hooded Klansmen....LOL...OK ...OH we should vote for her becasue she looks like us?? Yes this is her fan site and we are fans of Lil...but as a fan we are committed to telling her the truth. IT IS STUPID TO SAY "YEAH GIRL YOU ARE BRINGING IT EVERY WEEK...YOU JUST KEEP DOING IT JUST THE WAY YOU ARE DOING IT"...and then she loses! AGAIN AS AA WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH! SHE HAS A GREAT VOICE! SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL CLASSY AA WOMAN! We are simply waiting for her to STEP UP! WE'VE SEEN THE IMAGES OF HER BEAUTIFUL KIDS....WE DON'T WANT HER TO BE VOTED OUT BECAUSE AS FANS WE DID NOT TELL HER THE TRUTH NO MATTER HOW BRUTAL YOU MAY THINK WE ARE! We are not trying to tear her down....WE KNOW SHE HAS TALENT...Evidently you failed to read my comments thoroughly.
This past week's episode PROVED MY POINT AS SHE WAS IN THE BOTTOM THREE...!!!!THE JUDGES ARE TELLING HER THE EXACT SAME THING! The issue IS as AA is that sometimes we can not take constructive criticism! SHE WAS IN THE BOTTOM THREE! WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP LIL!
We HAVE NOT GIVEN UP ON LIL! ANOTHER POINT...Our admission of Adam's great talent in no way is a negative reflection upon Lil...We are not saying anything different than what the judges have said "There are several here who are great performers and continue to bring it every week such as Adam he takes a song and he makes it his own"...If anything we hope that LIL can take the time to seek the advice of fellow contestants. Praising someone IS NOT a DENIAL of someone else...LOL TRUTH PEOPLE TRUTH !!!!!!Why is that as African Americans we always have to bring some hidden facet of race into it...LOL. Quite frankly....any intelligent person would respect our honesty because we have voiced our true feelings in an effort to HELP LIL! WE WISH WE COULD JUST SHAKE THE CRAP OUT OF HER AND SAY 'WAKE UP!!!!"
    Whatever is bothering her...it shows.
As for Adam we have written comments on his site with many suggestions.
AGAIN AS A FAN OF LIL....WE WANT TO SEE HER TAKE IT HOME FOR HER CHILDREN IF NOT FGOR ANYONE ELSE! IT SHOWS IN SIMON'S FACE THAT HE TIRES OF TELLING HER THE SAME FREAKIN THINGS...ok but it's ok for Simon to say it as well as the rest of the judges....WE just can't say it! He gave Adam a standing ovation...gee that would be my motivation to STEP MY GAME UP!
SO PEOPLE STOP BEING SO TACTFUL AND COME WITH THE TRUTH PERHAPS THAT WILL WAKE HER BUTT UP!
The Tina Turner impression WAS KARAYOKE! Someone is giving her BAD ADVICE BY PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU WHO WANT TO ALWAYS REMAIN TACTFUL AND NICE! IT'S A DOG EAT DOG WORLD OUT HERE....NO ONE WILL WORK WITH HER IF SHE CONTINUES TO NOT TAKE ADVICE AND FOLLOW DIRECTION...BOTTOM LINE!
We still believe in HER! Just because we do not vote for her does not denote that we are not Fans.....we are still fans of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson etc....but this does not mean we have to agree with their choices...THANK GOD SOMEONE SPOKE TO WHITNEY WITH THE TRUTH AS OFTEN TIMES WE SURRROUND OURSELVES WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHOSE SOLE INTENTION IS TO REMAIN AND BE "YES MEN"......
Lil we love you DO YOUR THING AND WAKE UP!

  21. MUSICMAN: We must add: your comment about "..You don't come into other folk house and start throwing furniture....." Sometimes in life there needs TO BE in INTERVENTION. we ALL need someone...FROM TIME TO TIME... who has OUR BEST interest at heart to come into our homes and indeed start throwing, advising, re-arranging some furniture! THANK GOD there were people in my life who cared anough about me to throw some furniture because if they had not...THAT SAME OLD TIRED WORN OUT WAY OF DOING THINGS WOULD HAVE REMAINED AND THAT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR ANYONE! SO Music Man you remind me of the typical old friend who will support you despite the fact that he sees you drowning...TELL ME THE TRUTH NO MATTER HOW BRUTAL! Don't do me any favors. Don't support me/ vote for me etc when you KNOW that I am not meeting the challenge! Still continue to BELIEVE IN ME...LOVE ME...DON"T PATRONIZE ME! TELL ME...ENLIGHTEN ME.....SHAKE ME.....POUND ME.....SHOUT AT ME...WHATEVER IT TAKES....Don't ever lie to ME! I hope you truly understand where we are coming from!

  22. Truth be told...perhaps we are out of line....we THINK that she is too worried about her husband and what is going on at home to concentrate on her career. Now we said it! We are professional educated womena nd we have all been there! Baby girl.......WAKE UP!

  23. Greetings to all: A gentleman by the name of Forrest Long once wrote (for UNCF) "A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste". Read the statements from Sandra and you will know exactly where he drew his inspiration. Saaaandra - your posse - are they not rolling with you today? - Did you read the header of this site...it says "Embrace The Diva"...not ..."Shake The Crap Out Her" as you suggested. You say your glad somebody threw furniture in your house... well, you should have ducked cause I think a table must have hit you in the head! And what's up with the negative vibe when you refer to AA (African Americans).... "Where you from....England" (Soldier Story), up here soundin like "Sarge". "Truth" - girl please, the people had their own interpretation of "truth" and beat the Savior of the World.... no I am not comparing Lil Rounds to Jesus, but I am saying sometimes we take the "truth" as we see it and do a lot of damage making our point. Although subtle, you are tear down Lil Rounds every time you come onto this site. Why? I think everyone gets your point that she needs to step it up...but then you start praising Adam in the same breath. Folk one day shout "Hosanna" and the next day scream "Save Barabas" . Sandra you gotta be a fan for somebody...now how would you look if Lil wins American Idol....after telling the world you voted for Adam. No one wants to excuse Lil Rounds if she gets up there sounding like Daffy Duck, but at the same time we would encourage her to do better; offering constructive criticisms. But Mommy Dearest, with all this SHAKING, POUNDING, SHOUTING, be BRUTAL ...your talking about ....for one thing .....I'm not letting you come anywhere near my kids!!! (lol) and second, no I don't understand where you are coming from, and no I don't think you have her best interest at heart. The bottom line is Lil Rounds is a great vocalist who needs encouragement and votes from her fans. Shaking the crap out of her is not the answer. And who said that we are voting for her because she "looks like us". Obama looks like me too, my vote went for him not only because he looked like me, but also because he has what it takes to run a country. Lil Rounds has what it takes to win American Idol. We - (our "we" not your "we") want Lil Rounds to use what she has... and take it all the way to the finals. SHE NEEDS OUR VOTE. Okay, someone kindly open the door for Sandra; She is leaving now. And remember Sandra...next time somebody throws furniture in your house....duck.

    Luv ya! (for real)

  26. APRIL 14 SHOW! WAKE UP ONCE AGAIN NU DO NOT LISTEN! Music Man...ENCOURAGENT IS NOT WHAT LIL NEEDS..WHAT SHE NEEDS IS TO LEARN HOW TO TAKE DIRECTION...LISTEN AND WAKE UP! LAST NIGHT PROVED MY POINT! PAULA IS DONE. PAULA OFFERED NO POSITIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HER SONG SLECTION...SIMON SAID NO MORE SAVING HER...INSTEAD WHAT DOES SHE DO?...SHE WANTS TO ARUGE AND SAY WELL I DID IT MY WAY...ADDED GOSPEL...ETC..... AND ETC.......IT'S SO FRUSTRATING!YEAS WE WANT TO SHAKE THE CRAP OUT OF HER NOT ENCOURAGE HER TO KEEP DOING WHAT SHE IS DOING! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF TOUGH LOVE! IF MY CAREER CHILDREN'S FUTURE WAS ON THE LINE...SHAKE ME SHOUT AT ME...YELL AT ME...DO WHATEBVER IT TAKES.....DON'T PATRONIZE ME WHICH IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
Why are you people telling Lil that she is ok in this competiton?? Last night once (She sung the Rose) again proved it. Paula who is the nicest judge and she did not say ONE SIGNLE THING POSITIVE ABOUT HER SELCTION...INSTEAD PAULA DANCED AROUND IT! Lil is so freakin hard headed! She JUST WON"T LISTEN! Now when others who are producers see her on the show...do you truly think that she will be considered for a contract? Do you realize that time is money! Do you realize that no one will waste thier time with her if she can nto take direction? Do you realize that the biggies such as Clive Davis...G&H, BF etc WILL NOT TOUCH HER Why do you continue to patronize her? SHE SIMPLY NEEDS TO LISTEN! SO for those of you who think I am being too harsh and who state I am wasting a terrible MIND....TAHNK GOD THAT I DON;'T HAVE FRIENDS LIKE YOU! I ENOCURAGE MY FRIENDS TO ALWAYS BE BRUTALLY HONEST! ...As for Sandra and her "crew"...we are done! Have we give up on LIL? NO. We continue to pray that she WAKES UP! However...she HAS GIVEN UP BY NOT LISTENING! As a rsult...fro all of you out here who tik we were being creul...I GURRANTEE YOU THAT SHE WILL LOOK BACK ON THIS AND SAY "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THT I WASN';T THAT GFREAT? WHY DIDN;T YOU TELL ME I WAS NOT MEASRUNG UP? WHY DID YOU CONTIUE TO TELL ME I WAS DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME WHY DIDN YOU MAKE ME BELEIVE I WAS DOING OK?
I GURRANTEE YOU SHE WILL AND SHE WILL RESENT YOU ALL FOR IT!
As for the comments about her finances...I did not post that....we are not vindictive people...WE ARE PROFESSIONAL WOMEN....
A very good friend of ours was killed 0ct 2006 in a riduculous tow truck robbery in Maryland 10/08 ...he was and still remains one of the best music Engineers in the country.....to all fo you...you NEVER KNOW WHO IS WATCHING and WHO IS POSTING! You people continue to lie to LIL...I would not waste my money or anyone's money on her career...unless she changes and begins to listen! ....I have attached the link as a reminder to all of us...life is short....Lil should listen...everyone is watching her....you simply never know!
    RIP SCOTTIE!

  27. Hello Sandra. First let me apologize to you, it seems I have offended you. I am not the type who tries to hurt people. We can agree to disagree; however, we have to be clear where each other stands. If anyone looks back at my comments, I never say she was okay, my comments are always based on her keeping a watchful eye, respecting the judges, staying focused and losing the wig. In competition you should never rest and think you are okay because people are fickle, at any given moment you could say or do something that blows the whole thing. This is America watching. I see potential in Lil Rounds and offer advice and my critique.
You will see in my critique for last nights performance is not so nice.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Follow Lil Rounds fans. Wow, last night was tough for me. Let me be clear in saying I am still a Lil Rounds fan! You may recall me saying that this competition is 80% Skill and 20% Game...well last night was definitely "Game" time! Simon set a trap and Lil fell right into it. That was Simon's game. Lil should have put on her "Game Face" and played it off. I said before - RESPECT THE JUDGES AT ALL TIMES...AT ALL TIMES. Simon was ROUGH but he was right. Paula said absolutely nothing, because if she did it would not have been nice...that's just Paula. I am glad Randy did not get to comment. He would have pointed out that it was the wrong song, that she was nervous and that the song was pitchy all the way through. Everyone including me is trying to get Lil to go back to what got her there but she continues to try to show "another side" besides R&B and ends up choosing the wrong song.

Anonymous April 1, 2009 3:46 PM said it best:
"She can be versatile later. Right now give America (and the judges) what they want."

Lil seems to have other stuff on her mind. Pray for her...really. Simon gave her harsh but constructive criticism and she broke the Golden Rule of competition: Never Argue With The Judges. America does not like it, American Idol hated it because the show is on a time crunch now and I guarantee Simon will remember it. Don't forget the Judges still have a SAVE to use and all four judges must agree - remember Megan Corkey, she ticked off Simon and he made the decision for everyone with no hesitation. I wish Lil would have told Simon "Thank You", smiled and walked away. Like eating fish...chew the good stuff and spit out the bones.

Personally I will stick with Lil. It's getting late and to pull this off she will really have to come strong!! Her performance last night was not good and her comments behind it did not help. Let's really pull for her right now because she has what it takes to win this thing....but right now it is all up to her.

    Luv You Guys....

  31. Go with Chaka Kahns "Tell me somthing good" or "Sweet Thang" next week for Disco week. She would eat'em up with these great hits that everyone could relate to.

  32. Lil, I love your voice. You have it. Think about "I will Survive" for Disco night. You would be fabulous. I believe in Lil and know that Clive must love her. Lil don't wear a wig. How about the beautiful strapless gown you wore for an outfit. Do it! I know you can. I'll buy your cd for sure like I did Fantasia's, Paris', and Melinda's. I am not black just a 70 year old caucasian woman who loves good singing talent. No harm no foul if you don't win. You'll be around a lot longer than some of the others. Can't wait for your cd! Much luck and prayers coming your way.

  34. To MusicMan......I know we said that our time here had ended and indeed it has but we just had to come back and say regretfully so "WE TRIED TO TELL ALL OF YOU!"...now look at her! Last night (4/22/09) ONCE AGAIN 4/22/09 SHE DID NOT LISTEN! Why??? read on!
    1. Chose the wrong song per the advice of friends LIKE THOSE ON THIS WEBSITE WHO WE QUESTION AS TRULY HAVING HER BEST INTEREST AT HEART.....lol....HER "FREINDS" continued to tell her that she is GREAT (Which she is) But at the same time you ENCOURAGE HER TO do what she is doing because "YOU ALL LOVE LIL"...now look where LIL is at??? As I previously stated..."SHOUT AT ME...SHAKE ME....DRILL IT IN ME! DO NOT PATRONIZE ME!"

    2. LIL IS COCKY AND ARROGANT arguing with the judges AGAIN! We are now questioning her mental stability. There is something dreadfully wrong with someone who is so convinced she is ALWAYS right and never takes the industry advice of experts....what have you guys told this woman???? LOL!

    3. Last night will BE HER LAST NIGHT (4/22/09) Folks who are in this industry DO NOT HAVE TIME OR MONEY TO BE BOTHERED! Why? Because sweetheart there is always someone waiting to take your spot...who will listen...who will take the advice of those in the industry and who will NOT ARGUE WITH THOSE WHO HAVE THE FINANCIAL MEANS TO MAKE SURE THAT SHE AND HER BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN HAVE AN INCREDIBLE LIFE! THEY ARE HUNGRY FOR IT!

    4. We are all thinking...she has been given so many chances....WHY DOES SHE DESERVE ANOTHER 6 TH CHANCE VERSUS SOMEONE WHO IS HUNGRY FOR IT! Now many of you will say "What will be will be and perhaps it isn't meant for her and this is God's will" BS...God sent the boat to get her off the Island...she said "No I will wait"...He sent the airplane...she said I will wait, I really am having fun" ...and He sent the bus...yet she said "Oh no, I am doing the right thing because I know what He wants" Get my point?

    5. Lastly we think Lil is a wonderful singer.....but that is it...JUST A SINGER...She will have a wonderful part time career singing at weddings, funerals, and maybe even baby Christenings

She has come across as someone who has mental issues.....she is PASSIVVE AGRESSIVE to a fault! She can not take constructive criticism. She feels attacked! This is mal-adaptive behavior!
We are sure we will be regarded again as "Hooded Klansmen ....throwing stones in someone else's house...traitors who praised Whitney Houston on Lil's web site..."
I betcha by golly that Lil wishes someone had thrown those stones just a little harder when she is at home looking in the faces of her children. Where will you all be? Will she still have this fan site?? Will you continue to commend her on her great stints at the neighbor's wedding? She will be FORGOTTEN! ALL OF YOU WILL FORGET HER AND JUMP ON THE NEXT GREAT THING! ARE WE BEING TOO HARSH AGAIN? ARE WE BEING TOO MEAN AGAIN???? Great opportunities do not simply land in your lap! Thank God I do NOT have fans or friends like you!
Again.....we wish you the best Lil in whatever you do!

"INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN YIELDING THE SAME RESULTS!'
    Sandra and Friends!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Let me start by saying...I really like Lil Rounds! However, it is truly unfortunate that Lil has a hard time taking criticism, as you will notice the persons who are humble are doing well. I hope you see this Lil because I am one of your biggest fans...I believe that you have a wonderful voice, but you have to listen to what the judges are telling you...you cannot keep choosing the songs that do absolutely nothing for you. "I'm every woman!" Come On! That song wasn't that great when it was a hit...you chose to sing a song that had a lot of noise when it was originally done, the reason for all of the music is because Chaka Kahn is a screamer...I know I will get gigged for that Chaka Kahn comment; however, you have a rich voice that quiet music will suit you better you need BIG SONGS...like Maria Carey's Hero or Yolanda Adams "What About the Children" or Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" I am not saying those songs but songs of that caliber. "What's Love Got To Do With It" it was great when they stopped playing that on the radio because it was good for Tina Turner's comeback and it had a meaning for her that we could all understand. For you to sing it, the song just fell flat because it doesn't mean anything anymore, we have all gotten over Ike. Find a song that will pull out of your belly that old person who did not let the pressures of the competition get to her. You are compromising and trying to please everyone and have lost yourself. Being on your defense will get you eliminated... giving your opinion to Simon and the other judges WILL GET YOU ELIMINATED. I agree with Music Man...you have not arrived yet... you have no fans yet... you cannot say it is up to your fans... because before you came along they were fans of the show, not of you...no one knew who you were... they will still be fans of the show long after you are gone, but right now you need to make it so that you separate from that and allow the people to fall in love with you...the kind of love that will last beyond American Idol...You got it twisted and I pray that you will let that wall down and humble yourself...say thank you for the comments and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! I hope you make it to the next round, but Lil there are people on the show who don't sing nearly as well as you, but they have figured out how to play the game! You gotta find out how to play the game...if not, you will be out of the game.

  36. Lil you have a wonderful voice, but you are not coachable. Until you are willing to take in the feedback without becoming defensive you will not learn and you will not earn the success your talent can afford you. You stand in your own sunshine. No one else, just you.

  37. Lil,
Close your mouth and open your mind. You have a good voice, but you are beginning to look foolish.
Decide what is your priority: being right or winning American Idol. If you want to be right then argue with the judges. If you want to win American Idol then listen to the judges.

Chose one. Right now it just seems that you want to be right.

You have the talent. You have the strongest voice of all the contestants, but this is a contest. The other lesser contestants are giving the judges what they want while you argue.

You may win the debate and lose the contest.
